Sig Sauer P365-AXG Legion

The Sig Sauer P365-AXG Legion blends the renowned performance and reliability of the popular P365 series with enhanced features found in Sig’s higher-end Legion line.
The P365-AXG Legion is a direct descendant of the highly successful Sig Sauer P365 series, which redefined the compact concealed carry handgun market when it was introduced in 2018. The P365 was notable for packing a high capacity into a subcompact frame, offering a level of firepower previously unseen in guns of its size.
The AXG Legion variant takes that platform and improves upon it with a number of premium features aimed at providing a higher level of performance, ergonomics, and aesthetics for discerning shooters.
Sig Sauer P365-AXG Legion Information
AXG Grip Module
The most notable feature of the P365-AXG Legion is the AXG (Alloy XSeries Grip) G10 grip module. This is a full-size metal grip frame, made of 7075 aluminum alloy, which is lighter than steel but stronger than typical polymer frames. This provides a more solid, premium feel and improves overall balance and weight distribution compared to the standard polymer frames found in the regular P365 lineup.
The Legion-branded AXG frame is also designed with a more aggressive texture for enhanced grip embedded with the famed Legion Chevron, which is critical for better control during rapid fire. The texture is substantial enough to provide a confident hold but not so aggressive as to irritate the hand during long shooting sessions. The weight of the alloy frame gives the gun a more solid, less “plasticky” feel, which some shooters prefer for greater accuracy and a more premium shooting experience.

Cerakote Elite Finish
The P365-AXG Legion features Sig’s proprietary gray Cerakote Elite finish. This finish is highly durable, resistant to wear and corrosion, and provides an attractive matte look that helps reduce glare.
The Cerakote finish not only protects the firearm from environmental factors but also provides a professional, sleek, and aesthetic look, which is a Legion specific characteristic.
Cerakote Elite provides improved hardness, abrasion resistance and lubricity, all in a thinner application. This has been accomplished by developing an advanced resin technology that enables the incorporation of the highest performance engineered ceramics.
Cerakote Elite Finish Features:
- Exceeds 9h scratch and gouge hardness (ASTM D33630
- Taber abrasion greater than 8000 wear cycles per mil (ASTM D4060)
- Corrosion resistance more than 3000 hours (ASTM B117)
- Direct and indirect impact resistance of 160 in-lbs. (ASTM D2794)
- 0mm coating loss at 180* mandrel bend (ASTM D522)
- Coefficient of Friction rivaling Teflon at 0.11 (Steady-State Dynamic Coefficient of Friction Under Load)
- Extremely high chemical resistance

Enhanced Controls and Ergonomics
The slide catch/release lever on the P365-AXG Legion is enlarged compared to the standard P365. This ensures easier manipulation, particularly for those who may be wearing gloves or have larger hands.
The slide is made from high-quality stainless steel, and it is optics-ready with a cut for micro red dot optics. This is an important feature for users who prefer to run an optic on their handgun, as it allows the shooter to acquire sights faster and more accurately in many cases.
The barrel is 3.1 inches long, just like the standard P365. While relatively short, this length helps the P365 maintain its subcompact size while still achieving good accuracy at close to mid-range distances. The barrel has a flush-fitting crown for improved accuracy and reliability and the nitride barrel finish enhances corrosion resistance and wear characteristics.

P365-AXG Legion Enhancements
Recoil Mitigation
Recoil is mitigated via a two port integrated expansion chamber. This two-port integrated expansion chamber is said to mitigate recoil effectively, ensuring smooth operation and faster follow-up shots.
The compensation cuts in the slide push the recoil down, keeping your sight picture more easily on target.
Finally, the added weight of the AXG grip also mitigates recoil, making the P365 AXG Legion one of the flattest shooting 9mm compact firearms available.

Recoil Mitigation
X-RAY3 Day/Night Sights
Sig Sauer’s X-RAY3 iron sights make target acquisition fast and able to be acquired in any light condition. This 3-Dot tritium system has a superior glowing illumination in low-light and remains bright and white for daylight conditions compared to other stock firearms on the market.
The steel surrounds the tritium sights and gives them protection from recoil and protects from cleaning solvents and the harsh elements.
Features Of The X-RAY3 Day/Night Sights:
- With a half-life of 12 years, the 3-Dot tritium system allows for fast target acquisition in low-light conditions
- Oversized chemical resistant fluorescent polymer front dot gives confidence in any environment
- Sights come in standard Sig sizes of #6 and #8 in square or round (U)notched rearsight
- Torture tested to 20,000 rounds, the steel housing provides for a tough, reliable sight that lasts as long as the firearm
